Hello Friends! Amy and I had a very interesting experience last week on our ski trip to Pamporovo. First of all, when we say it was a school trip what we actually mean was that there were very few of OUR students and many third graders. Second of all, when I say there were few of our students that doesn’t mean that they actually talked to us or even acknowledged our existence (with the exception of one of my awesome studnets). Third of all, there wasn’t enough snow to go skiing. Fourth of all, there was no plan B. This was TIB at its greatest or worst (depending on whether you ask Amy or myself). I’ll be perfectly honest, I don’t really want to write an extended post about this experience so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Suffice to say that it was a good experience in the sense that it added yet another memory to my queue of memories that will need to be processed in the coming months and years (perhaps I will come to true comprehension on my death-bed like Kurtz from “Heart of Darkness”.
One of the positive things, however, was that we got to spend some quality time with a few of our colleagues. We had several really nice conversations. We got to go bowling (yes, real honest-to-goodness ten pin bowling in quite possibly the nicest bowling alley I have ever been to. It was in one of Pamporovo’s 5-Star hotels). Amy and I got to go hiking into the woods (although we had to hike for about forty minutes before we couldn’t hear construction noises anymore). Amy got to sleep about 14 hours a day. I got to do some reading. So I guess in the end it was a worthwhile experience. Here are some pictures:
